The Siblings

Gaara, Kankurou, & Temari

Gaara, Kankurou, and Temari (also known as the Sand 3, Sand Siblings, or Team Baki) first appeared in chapter 35 of the manga and episode 20 of the anime. They were brought in appearing as if they were there like any other to participate in the Chuunin Exams, but it was later discovered that they were just waiting for the attack on Konoha to begin. The group was quite intimidating and the longer the manga/anime went on, it became obvious they had every right to be intimidating. But it had also become obvious whom was the leader of the group; Gaara. Although being the youngest and smallest of the three, Gaara was the strongest, holding the one-tailed Shukaku within him. His older brother and sister expressed a strong fear of him, but regardless of their fear, they still loved and cared for their younger sibling.

After the attack on Konoha failed and Naruto had saved Gaara from himself, the team returned to their village. When they came back into the anime to help the young ninjas of Konoha, not only had their appearances changed, but so did their personalities. Later on it was shown Gaara finally had a heart-to-heart with his brother Kankurou, and told him how he was going to become the Kazekage all thanks to Naruto.

As time goes by, Gaara, Kankurou, and Temari seem to be getting a better relationship with each other. Kankurou and Temari being more protective of their brother, and Gaara being more open with his siblings.

Why I love them...

besides them being epic!

The siblings are strong, different, and have such tough attitudes...why wouldn't someone love them? I've loved their relationship since they first appeared, even if the relationship was a little strange for them being siblings. But I loved the relationship even more when I witnessed Gaara and Kankurou having their heart-to-heart moment. It showed me how much they have grown as siblings, how much they love, care about, and respect each other. Besides their situation in the beginning, they honestly seem to have the best and most stable relationship out of everyone in the series.

I don't like them in a romantic relationship. I love their relationship how it belongs; as family and friends. I have always been told blood is thicker than water, and these three prove that. I mean, if it wasn't, who would honestly stick by someone's side who was completely insane and constantly threatens to kill you? And I love how even though he does so, and even though they're terrified of him, Kankurou and Temari really seem to love and care about him. How is that for a loving family?
